This weekend’s celebration was for Paige’s 5th birthday. Unlike most 5 year olds I know, Paige actually likes to try new foods (unlike her brother, who won’t even eat most familiar foods on a good day — try getting the kid to eat a plain piece of lettuce!!).

Sushi is Paige’s “special treat”. Every year on her birthday Paige has asked for sushi. Every birthday since she turned 2 she has had a special sushi lunch for her birthday… usually its a “Mommy and Me” day.

For her 5th birthday she got a Princess makeover (hence the star on her face) where she got her hair done in…

So… here I go, starting a BLOG. 

For years and years I wrote on the Open Diary. And then my soon-to-be-ex-husband decided that he was going to “supervise” me there, and in all other aspects of my life. And writing stopped being a safe outlet for my feelings, and started to become yet another thing that was controlled and watched and monitored and could get me punished at any time. And so I walked away from my Open Diary (1998-2006), deleted the whole thing, and shut myself up tightly inside myself.
