This is how I feel today, “that which doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger”. Its just been one of those days? Weeks? Months? Seasons? Years? Yes… years, it’s been one of those years for me and although I can see how I am getting better and stronger, there are still days where things are getting harder and coming faster.

I have started to realize how blessed my life really is. Every day I get to wake up to 2 beautiful and healthy children, I have a great babysitter with the patience of a saint (laugh), I have a job that pays me well enough to live on, and I have a nice drive to and from work that allows me to key up for my day and wind down for my day — a drive in which I get to indulge in my various podcasts, audiobooks, and music on my iPods (yes, the plural is correct, I have 2 of them). This weekend’s celebration was for Paige’s 5th birthday. Unlike most 5 year olds I know, Paige actually likes to try new foods (unlike her brother, who won’t even eat most familiar foods on a good day — try getting the kid to eat a plain piece of lettuce!!).

Sushi is Paige’s “special treat”. Every year on her birthday Paige has asked for sushi. Every birthday since she turned 2 she has had a special sushi lunch for her birthday… usually its a “Mommy and Me” day.
